May 2, 2013 - Shangri-La II Motorspeedway in Tioga Center, NY is ready to open the gates for their fifth consecutive season of competition on the high banked concrete oval. Having completed the first of three scheduled early season practice sessions on a beautiful day last Saturday, the teams and staff are ready to start the 2013 season of competition with Mothers Day Madness on Sunday, May 12th.

The second practice day on the schedule precedes the opener on Saturday, May 11. In competition for the season opener at the ASA Member track will be the Late Models, Sportsman, Street Stocks and Four Cylinder Stocks. Pit Gates for the season opener will open at 12:00pm. Grandstand Gate opens and Hot Laps begin at 1:30pm. Racing will get the green flag at 3:00 pm. "This year, it's all about fun" stated track owner/promoter George Swansbrough. "We want everyone to come out and enjoy themselves as a family. There is nowhere else around where the fans can see two different styles of racing competition on the same night, at the same facility and all for one admission price."

Tioga Center, NY - Shangri-La II Motorspeedway in Tioga Center, NY is finalizing plans for a major milestone season. The "Concrete Castle" will celebrate their fifth season of competition when the gates swing open on Sunday May 12th. Mother's Day Madness will get the season underway for the third year in a row and will feature the four classes which will see regular weekly competition in 2013. The Latemodels, Sportsman, Street Stocks and Four Cylinder Stocks will once again compete for the track titles.

The Race of Champions Pavement Modified Tour will once again have three events on the high banks. The first is a 75 lapper on Sunday, May 19th. The second 75 lapper will be run on Sunday, July 28th and the third event will be part of the Fifth Annual Fall Brawl on Sunday, September 29th and it will be a 100 lap event.

There are three Saturday practice sessions scheduled in May for the teams to shake down their rides. The dates are May 4, 11 and 18. The one mid-week show this season will be on the track's 5th Official birthday - July 4th. This program will feature the Sportsman and two groups making their first ever trip to Shangri-La II. The New York State Big 10 Super Stock series will be competing in a 40 lap event and the Atlantic Coast Old Timers will be in action.

Track licenses are now available, and the pre-season discount of $50.00/license has been extended through April 30th. Drivers who are new to the speedway in 2013 and purchase a track license will receive a free pit pass. The free pit pass is good for the driver and pits only. It is not transferrable and not good for grandstand admission.

"We are excited that the time is getting near to get back to racing" said track manager, Amy Stilson. "We have put together a schedule which will run through the month of September, increasing the number of scheduled events by four over last season. We are pleased that the Race of Champions Modified Tour has selected us to host three events for the second year in a row. We are still working on some special additions to the schedule, and we will make those announcements as soon as the arrangements are firmed up. The rules for all four weekly classes have been updated on the official track website".

Tioga Center, NY   Shangri-La II Motorspeedway in Tioga Center, NY is sad to announce the cancellation of the annual awards banquet which was scheduled for Saturday February 16, 2012 at The McKinley in Endicott, NY. “We didn’t have the response and early reservations we needed to host the event” said track manager, Amy Stilson. All trophies and prize monies will be forwarded to the recipients. Those who paid for their banquet tickets in advance will have their purchase refunded.
