Shangri-La II Motor Speedway has announced that the pre-season open practice days at the the half-mile concrete oval have been chaged to Saturday, April 17, and Saturday, April 24. Originally practice had been announced for the Sundays of those same weekends. All activity at the Concrete Castle in April will now take place on Saturday, with the second open house and registration day this Saturday, April 10, followed by the open practice days on the next two Saturdays.

Opening day for the 2010 season featuring the Concrete Duals follows on Saturday, May 1, with the Mother's Day Delight program on Saturday, May 8. The first Sunday event of the year comes on May 16 when the Race of Champions Modified Series makes ite first appearance at Shangri-La II.

Shangri-La II Motor Speedway, the northeast's newest and finest short track, and the world famous Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa., have joined forces for the 2010 racing season, centered around the July 3-4 Great American Classic two-day racing weekend at Shangri-La II. As part of that event, drawings will be held for 100 general admission tickets to the Saturday, July 31 doubleheader at Pocono featuring the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards as well as the first appearance at the "Tricky Triangle" by the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Grand Prize in the promotion will be a Pocono race weekend package including four tickets to the July 31 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards/NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event and four reserved seat tickets in Row 30 of the Terrace Grandstand for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race on Sunday, August 1, plus one night's accommodation at the Howard Johnson in Bartonsville, Pa., conveniently located on I-80 east of the track. The drawings will take place at Shangri-La II on Sunday, July 4, and the winners need not be present provided they have registered in person at a Shangri-La II racing event.

While the engines won't fire until later in the month, racers and fans will get their first look at Shangri-La II Motor Speedway in 2010 on Saturday, April 3 and Saturday, April 10, as the Concrete Castle plays host to its first open house each day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the same time, Shangri-La II's sister track, SkyView Drags, will conduct its pre-season registration on both days.
