(Tioga Center, NY) In another exciting racing program at Shangri-La II Motor Speedway on Saturday, July 25th, winners included Rick Zacharias (Mighty Modifieds), Travis Fisher (ASA Late Models), Jimmy Zacharias (Sportsman Modifieds) and Chad McDonald (Street Stocks).

The 40 lap feature for the Mighty Modifieds had Rick Zacharias and Chris Zacharias take the field to the green. R. Zacharias jumped out to the lead going into turn 1 with 3rd place starter Jimmy Zacharias following close behind. Jim Storace who started 6th quickly moved into 3rd by lap 8 and had John Markovic who started 4th all over his rear bumper. R. Zacharias and J. Zacharias were able to pull away by a half a straight away as Storace and Markovic continued to fight it out for 3rd and 4th. On lap 15, Markovic cleared Storace off turn 2 for the 3rd spot and then looked to reel in the front runners. At the halfway point, R. Zacharias continued to lead J. Zacharias by less than half a car length as Markovic continued to run 3rd, Storace ran 4th and Tommy Cloce rounded out the top 5. The only caution flag of the race came on lap 34 when Chris Zacharias spun on the front straight. This caution bunched the field together for a double file restart with R. Zacharias and J. Zacharias taking the field back to green. R. Zacharias once again pulled out front but Markovic looked to the outside of J. Zacharias on several occasions and the two battled side by side for the 2nd position with 5 laps remaining. Rick Zacharias held on to score the win over Jimmy Zacharias who finished 2nd by inches over John Markovic. Cloce took fourth as Storace slowed on the last lap but retained 5th place.. J. Zacharias and R. Zacharias won the 10 lap heat races.

Travis Fisher scored his 2nd straight feature win in the ASA Late Models after starting from the pole position. T. Fisher and Jim Lamoreaux led the field to the green flag and battled side by side down the back straight in the opening laps. At the halfway point Fisher led Lamoreaux by less than half a car length. With 3 laps to go Lamoreaux looked to the outside of the leader down the back straight for the top spot as Ben Reynolds passed Larry Fisher for 3rd. T. Fisher opened up a small advantage on Lamoreaux as the field came to the white flag. The fight wasn't over though as Reynolds and Lamoreaux made it a close battle for the 2nd position. At the line Travis Fisher took the checkered flag first ahead of Reynolds who prevailed in the exciting battle with Lamoreaux to finish 2nd. Lamoreaux finished 3rd, Larry Fisher finished 4th and Bobby Newman completed the top 5. The feature for ASA Late Models was cut to 15 laps after an accident in the heat race depleted the field. Scott Nurmi and Brent Matzel both hit the outside retaining wall in turn 1. Travis Fisher won that 10 lap heat race.

The 30 lap Sportsman Modified feature event took 4 tries to get started. Paul Johnson and Tom Shiner led the field to the green flag and it didn't take 3rd place starter Jimmy Zacharias long as he cleared both of them on the first lap to take control of the top spot. Tony Hanbury started in the 7th position and was up 2nd and on the bumper of J. Zacharias by lap 10. As the field completed halfway, J. Zacharias still had Hanbury on his bumper with Rick Zacharias close behind in the 3rd position. The yellow flag came out on lap 16 as Shiner made contact with the wall on the back straight. The field went double file for the restart and J. Zacharias was once again able to pull out to the lead. R. Zacharias dove to the inside of Tony Hanbury to take the 2nd position on lap 17. With less than 10 laps remaining, J. Zacharias, R. Zacharias and Hanbury were a nose to tail battle around the speedway. J. Zacharias was able to hold off all challenges to score his 2nd win of the season over R. Zacharias, Hanbury, Russ Brown and John Markovic who closed out the top 5. J. Zacharias and Zach Truesdail won the 8 lap heat races.

Frank Chapman and Terry Ostrander led the field to the green flag in the 20 lap feature event for the Street Stock division. Chad McDonald and AJay Potrzebowski both cleared Ostrander in turn 2 on lap 1 to take over the 2nd and 3rd positions. McDonald got a run on Chapman on the 2nd lap and took over the top spot. The caution flew on lap 3 when late arrival Derrick Tarbox broke an axle in turn 2. When the field went back to green, McDonald continued to lead and AJay Potrzebowski passed Chapman for 2nd. McDonald and Potrzebowski battled bumper to bumper for the top spot from laps 5 to 10. McDonald finally opened up a small advantage over Potrzebowski as the field worked lap traffic with 5 laps remaining. McDonald drove smoothly through the traffic and earned his 3rd victory in a row. Potrzebowski finished 2nd and Frank Chapman finished 3rd. McDonald took the checkered flag in the 8 lap heat race.
